Maharashtra: 105 got arrested in Maharashtra in CSAM case.
Maharashtra: The Mumbai police had arrested 105 people to date (30th July 2021) and had registered 213 cases in connection with creating and forwarding CSAM ( child sexual abuse material ) on the internet in the last year and a half as stated by the senior police official on Friday.
All the cases were registered based on the cyber tipline shared by NCRB( National Crime Record Bureau) in the last year. A half said by SP of Cyber Maharashtra.
The cyber tipline of CSAM ( child sexual abuse material ) was regained by The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children after regularly monitoring social media and several websites.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children with the help of the FBI shares the reports on day to day to purpose with NCRB.which forwards to all the cyber cells of the country.
The report consists of “GEOLOCATION”, “IP Addresses” from where the CSAM is accessed, and on this report the Law enforcement agency takes action.
Blackface operation was started by the Maharashtra Cyber agency in the year 2019-2020 to abolish CSAM in Maharashtra. Till 30th July 2021 total of 11,122 cyber tiplines were reported out of which 5699 were from Pune. 4496 were from Mumbai,364 were from Thane,302 were from Nagpur,90 were from Aurangabad.
The Law Enforcement agency had registered 213 cases in the last year and a half and 105 people have been arrested under the POCSO Act, PCIT Act.
