A 63-year-old retired person has been duped of ₹ 5.9 lakh in online cyber fraud. The senior citizen is the victim of this case. He lives in Purna Nagar, Chinchwad Pune. The victim received a call regarding his mobile phone number. The cybercriminals said the victim to update his KYC information for his mobile number.,The victim lodged a first FIR at Chikhali Police Station on Thursday, February 22.
Police said the victim explained in his FIR that he received a fake call to update KYC information regarding his mobile number, he provided all details as the fraudster said.
The complainant downloaded the “Quick Support” application from the play store on his mobile phone. Post this, he received a six-digit number. The fraudster asked for that number and the complainant sent it to him.
Then, after a while, ₹ 90,000 was blown from his bank through online transactions in online cyber fraud without his consent. Cybercriminals took a bank loan of ₹ 5,00,000 in the name of the victim of this case without his consent and permission and the Cybercriminals transferred the money to multiple bank accounts via multiple online transactions.
