Why was the Attack Executed?

The attack was pre-planned due to an event that happened in front of the Turkish Embassy, in Sweden, on 21 Jan, 2023. That happened because of a far-right nationalist group that burnt a Holy Quran Copy in a protest against Turkey’s objection to Sweden’s NATO membership bid.

Somehow, this act showed hatred towards Muslims worldwide, where Sudan was not excluded. SAS became the target of the hacktivists group for being the flagship carrier of

  1. Sweden,
  2. Denmark, and
  3. Norway.

Earlier this week, SVT also got victimized by the same group. That forced Sweden’s national public television broadcaster into a temporary outage. Cyber Security Experts got questioned by SVT, to which they replied – “Russian hackers are conducting the attacks or at least aiding the Sudanese group with firepower and know-how.”
