A different instance of digital fraud involves the purported deception of a good citizen for ₹5 Lakhs. The issue came into focus after Zerodha creator and Twitter user Nithin Kamath claimed that a friend of his had been defrauded and suffered financial losses.
In a series of tweets, Kamath described how an individual he knew had been defrauded online. According to him, it all began with a WhatsApp reply to an employment offer for a part-time position. Following this, the individual got active, carried out a few assignments, and even obtained ₹30,000 for his account.
Kamath claimed that in order to increase earnings, the person was also urged to send actual money and do trading on a fictitious cryptocurrency platform. He claimed that although his friend had sent more funds, he was hesitant to take out the identical amount of money. Kamath said in his post that the other person, his friend, had sent an entire amount of ₹5 Lakhs.
All in all, when Kamath’s acquaintance was finally revealed to his partner, the latter saw through the massive deception. Following this, both of them contacted the police, who informed them that numerous, even highly qualified individuals had fallen for this trap, borrowed large sums of money, and ultimately ended up losing their funds to such complex scams.
