Microsoft, Washington: Across the globe, Microsoft Windows users are encountering Blue Screen of Death errors. The issue was reported by a significant number of users on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter). According to reports, Windows users are experiencing blue screen errors, which result in the laptop or PC becoming stuck in a restart cycle.
The Windows Global Outage has caused significant disruptions to the operations of numerous airlines, institutions, broadcasting organizations, and emergency services worldwide.
Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on its service status page.
CrowdStrike, a security company headquartered in the United States, also stated in a Reddit post that the disruption was the consequence of a “faulty update” that has since been reverted. “We have widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts, occurring on multiple sensor versions.” “[We have] identified a content deployment related to this issue and reverted those changes, “it said in the post.”
Therefore, it is unclear which, if any, of the disruptions are associated with the CrowdStrike problem or issue at Microsoft.
Microsoft Windows Outage: Impact in India
Airlines, banks, and other industries worldwide have been affected by the disruption in Microsoft’s services. Spicejet, Aksa Airlines, and Air India Express are among the Indian airlines. Flight cancellations and delays have been the consequence of the Microsoft Cloud disruption.
“We’re currently facing a technical issue in providing updates on flight disruptions. Our team is actively working to resolve this issue. We regret for any inconvenience caused and will update you once the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience and co-operation,” Spicejet said.
Indigo updated: “As our systems are impacted by an ongoing issue with Microsoft Azure, we are experiencing high volumes at contact centre. Please contact us only if your travel is within 24 hrs.”
IT minister on Microsoft outage
Recently, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the IT Minister of India, made a post on X, the micro-blogging platform, around 6:35 PM and informed everyone that CERT-In and other major government portals are continuously in touch with Microsoft Office who are working on their toes to make things normalize again. With their continuous efforts, things have started to become normal once again and the patch has started showing and the functioning of multiple platforms has become stable once again.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the IT minister in the Government of India, replied to the Microsoft Global Outage. “MEITY is in touch with Microsoft and its associates regarding the global outage. The reason for this outage has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the issue. CERT is issuing a technical advisory,” wrote Vaishnaw. The IT network has not been impacted by the outage. “NIC network is not affected” added Vaishnaw.
What does Microsoft’s live service page read?
The Microsoft 365 Admin page displays “Service degradation,” which suggests that users may be unable to access Microsoft 365 apps and services.
Preliminary root cause: A configuration change in a portion of our Azure backend workloads, caused an interruption between storage and compute resources which resulted in connectivity failures that affected downstream Microsoft 365 services dependent on these connections.

In a post on X, Microsoft 365 Status wrote that the company is “investigating an issue impacting users ability to access various Microsoft 365 apps and services.”
“We’re working on rerouting the impacted traffic to alternate systems to alleviate impact in a more expedient fashion,” it said in another post adding “We remain focused on redirecting the impacted traffic to healthy systems.”
