Google To Use Gemini AI to Tackle Advanced Cyber Threats
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, wrote on X, “We’re launching Google Threat Intelligence from Google Cloud to help cybersecurity professionals get better visibility of global threats.”
Tuesday, in an effort to enhance enterprise cybersecurity against cyber incidents, Google introduced a novel threat intelligence solution propelled by its Gemini AI.
The ‘Google Threat Intelligence’ powered Gemini offers conversational search capabilities that access its extensive collection of threat intelligence. This empowers users to acquire valuable insights and fortify their defenses against potential threats at an unprecedented rate.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, wrote on X, “We’re launching Google Threat Intelligence from Google Cloud to help cybersecurity professionals get better visibility of global threats. It uses Gemini’s advanced AI capabilities, plus expertise and insights from @Mandiant + @virustotal”
“It employs Gemini’s advanced AI capabilities in addition to Mandiant and VirusTotal’s knowledge and insights,” he continued.
It blocks 100 million phishing attempts daily and safeguards 4 billion devices and 1.5 billion email accounts, according to the company.
At this time, the integration of ‘Google Threat Intelligence’ into Gemini 1.5 Pro enables it to aid security professionals in their efforts to combat malware.
“Gemini 1.5 Pro supports up to one million tokens in the longest context window in the world.” Google stated that it has the potential to significantly streamline the labor-intensive and technical procedure of reverse engineering malware.
The entire decompiled code of the ‘WannaCry’ malware file was processed in a single pass by Gemini AI, which required 34 seconds to deliver its analysis and detect the ‘killswitch’.
“While threat intelligence is abundant, most organizations face the challenge of operationalizing and contextualizing intelligence that is pertinent to their particular organization,” said Dave Gruber, enterprise strategy group’s principal analyst.
